What is the Travel Pass?
The Travel Pass is a voucher for discounted transport ticket purchase. It is available for purchase online through our website or via our mobile app. It is only available to registered users and may not be transferred to another person.

Who may purchase the Travel Pass?
The Travel Pass is only available to registered users and is non-transferable. Each Travel Pass holder is required to have a registered personal account. In case of any misuse of the Travel Pass for providing rides to persons other than the Travel Pass holder, the carrier is entitled to cancel such Travel Pass without any reimbursement.

Each Travel Pass holder is required to have a registered personal account. The Travel Pass is non-transferable. A single registered account may not be used to travel and purchase Travel Passes by multiple users.

The Travel Pass is available for purchase online through our website. The Travel Pass cannot be purchased directly through the mobile app; the purchase will be redirected to the website. The Travel Pass cannot be purchased at bus station ticket counters, nor from the bus driver.

How to use the Travel Pass?
With a Travel Pass, a passenger purchases their transport tickets in advance online (recommended) After logging in to their user account, the passenger selects the option to buy the ticket with a valid Travel Pass. Such tickets are provided at the cost of €0. Transport tickets can be purchased online (via our website or our mobile app) up until 5 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of the bus service. Alongside with Travel Pass, transport tickets can be purchased solely for the particular bus route the Travel Pass is intended for. With a Travel Pass, a passenger purchases their transport tickets from the bus driver The Travel Pass may also be used when purchasing a transport ticket directly from the bus driver using the QR code of the passenger’s Travel Pass. However, in such case, such passenger is not guaranteed a seat on the bus and without a pre-purchased transport ticket, they are not given priority over other passengers.

How can I use the Travel Pass if I do not own a mobile phone?
The easiest way to use the Travel Pass is with a mobile phone. Alternatively, the Travel Pass can be printed. However, in such case, the passenger cannot purchase a transport ticket for a selected bus service in advance, nor check the number of their remaining rides.

May I cancel a transport ticket purchased with Travel Pass?
According to the applicable terms and conditions of cancellation, transport tickets purchased via Travel Pass at the cost of €0 may be cancelled up until 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the bus service through the user’s account. In such case, the cancelled ride will be added back to the holder’s Travel Pass. If, having purchased a travel ticket via Travel Pass, the passenger does not board the bus, the ride counts as performed and such transport ticket may not be returned to the Travel Pass holder, nor added back to their account. The passenger is solely responsible for the cancellation of the transport ticket and later proof of not having boarded the bus is not taken into the account.

How to cancel a transport ticket?
Transport tickets can be cancelled free of charge up until 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time of the bus service. After this time, tickets cannot be cancelled.
  • Transport tickets purchased online can be cancelled
    • on the website
    • Mobile App
    • in person at the bus station on Bottova Street 7 at the ticket counters 1, 2, 3 (open daily from 06:30 a.m. to 06:30 p.m.).
  • Transport tickets purchased at the ticket counter can be cancelled only in person at the bus station at the ticket counters 1, 2, 3.
  • Transport tickets purchased from a contractual seller can be cancelled at the seller from which they were purchased.

Can I get on the bus in Hainburg and get off in Vienna Airport or in Vienna?
Unfortunately, this is not possible. Domestic transport within Austria and Slovakia is excluded on international routes.

Do I have to print my ticket?
On the lines operated by Slovak Lines it is not required to have the transport ticket printed. The passenger can also present a valid QR code on a display of a mobile device when boarding. If the passenger is not able to present a valid ticket, they are obliged to purchase a new transport ticket at the driver.

The ticket can also be purchased directly at the driver on the bus but only if there are still vacancies, which we cannot guarantee.

Can I use a payment card to pay on board the bus?
On the bus lines 102806 Bratislava - Wien, 102958 Bratislava - Schwechat, 102830 Bratislava - Budapest and 105801 Bratislava - Hainburg, payments can be made directly to the bus driver using a contactless payment card as well.

Can I travel on a different date or time than the one specified on the ticket?
The transport ticket is valid for the specified date and time. However, the passenger can use the ticket to travel with the earlier bus that leaves no sooner than 2 hours before the scheduled departure time of the purchased ticket, if the free seats are available. In that case the passenger needs to pay the price difference between the purchased ticket and the ticket for the earlier connection. If the passenger knows that they won't be able to catch the bus, they can cancel the ticket for free no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled departure of the bus. After that the ticket cannot be cancelled. After the ticket is cancelled, the voucher is sent to the e-mail address of the passenger. The voucher is valid for 6 months from the date of issue and can be used for the purchase of the new ticket.

What's a Hot Ticket for €1?
These are early purchase promotional tickets, the number of which is limited for each bus. You can purchase a hot ticket online for the Bratislava - Vienna line as a one way ticket at the price of €1. It is not possible to buy it at the cash desk at the bus station or on the bus. The hot ticket cannot be canceled or changed.

Can I buy a transport ticket combined with the Vienna public transport ticket?
Yes, you can. All-day ticket for Vienna public transport in Zone 100 costs €5,80 for an adult and €2,90 for an accompanied child over 6 years of age. The Wien Ticket can be purchased together with the transport ticket for the Bratislava – Vienna route at the bus station ticket counter as well as directly from the bus driver on board the bus.

How can I find my seat on the bus?
The seat number is specified on the travel ticket. The passenger can choose their preferred seat when buying the ticket. Children to 12 years of age are not allowed to sit on the front seats (numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4).

Due to the current construction works in the surrounding area of the temporary bus station in Bratislava it is not possible to park the car at the station.

From what age can a child travel unaccompanied?
Children under the age of 16 (sixteen) are not allowed to travel without an accompanying adult passenger over the age of 18 (eighteen), with an exception of regular commute to/from an educational institution. The child shall carry a confirmed copy of the Full Powers. The Consent is valid for 1 (one) school year.

What is the purpose of the Parental/Legal representative consent?
If a minor (from the age of 16 (sixteen)) is travelling abroad without their parent/legal representative, they are required to submit a signed Parental/Legal representative consent to the carrier. The child presents the signed Parental/Legal representative consent to the bus driver along with a valid travel document when boarding the bus. If the aforesaid conditions are not met, the carrier is entitled to refuse to provide carriage of such minor. The Parental/Legal representative consent is available at the website of the carrier.

Is it possible to use a child safety seat?
Minors are not permitted to be transported neither held nor sitting in a passenger’s lap. Where general legal provisions require compliance with any special obligation relating to the carriage of minors (e.g. the obligation to carry a child in a child seat or an equivalent restraint), the passenger or person accompanying the minor must ensure compliance with such obligation. Child seats or booster seats are not part of the common and compulsory equipment of a bus. A child seat is available for children aged 3–9 years; you are encouraged to book it sufficiently in advance via the contact centre: info@slovaklines.sk.

What documents can be used to travel abroad?
Passengers are obliged to verify what types of personal documents are required for entering their destination country (ID card, identification document, passport, entry visa). The obligation to produce a valid travel document (passport) applies to each child from the date of birth. At the driver’s request, the passenger must produce these documents for inspection when boarding the vehicle.

Is transporting animals allowed?
On the 102806 Bratislava – Wien, 102958 Bratislava – Schwechat, 102830 Bratislava - Budapest and 105801 Bratislava - Hainburg bus routes, it is only allowed to transport dogs. A dog can be carried provided that it is placed in a suitable carrier (i.e. a crate, special case, special bag, etc.) with a leak-tight bottom. The maximum permitted dimensions of a cage are 30 x 60 x 80 cm and the maximum permitted weight of a dog is 10 (ten) kg. This restriction does not apply to guide dogs. Carriage of a dog that is muzzled and leashed, but not placed in a travel cage is not permitted. Dogs are carried at a rate specified in the current price list.

I want to transport a dog; what documents do I need?
At the time of boarding the vehicle, the passenger is obliged to present all the documents required for transporting the dog abroad. If the documents required for carriage of the dog are missing or incorrect, the carrier is entitled to refuse carriage and the passenger is liable for any damage arising as a result thereof.

Bicycles are considered excess luggage, which is carried subject to space availability in the luggage compartment and must be properly folded, packed and secured. The maximum number of 1 excess luggage can be carried on a bus at a rate specified in the current price list.

How many pieces of luggage can I take?
The fare paid entitles the passenger to take 1 piece of hand luggage and 2 pieces of registered luggage on board. Each additional piece of luggage is considered extra luggage and is subject to a charge according to the current price list.

How to travel with a baby stroller?
The passenger may transport a 4-wheel baby stroller as a piece of luggage. Only baby strollers carrying a child are permitted for carriage if operational conditions on the line allow it. Such baby strollers are carried free of charge.

Left-luggage lockers are available in the hall of the temporary bus station on Bottova Street. Luggage can be stored free of charge.
